Derek Carr è diventato il giocatore NFL più pagato
Ieri sera gli Oakland Raiders e Derek Carr hanno trovato un accordo per il rinnovo del contratto: 125 milioni di dollari per cinque anni.

Il quarterback diventa così il giocatore più pagato nella NFL sorpassando Andrew Luck degli Indianapolis Colts.
Il contratto di Carr scadeva nel 2017 ed è un rookie contract perchè il primo firmato essendo stato scelto dai Raiders al secondo giro nel draft del 2014 da Fresno State quindi con uno stipendio molto basso di poco superiore a 1 milione di euro a stagione.
Il nuovo contratto prevede 70 milioni di dollari garantiti e 12,5 milioni di bonus alla firma. Inoltre il contratto è stato strutturato per far si che la maggior parte del salario sia corrisposta dal 2020, cioè da quando gli Oakland Raiders diventeranno Las Vegas Raiders, per approfittare della tassazione più bassa del Nevada rispetto a quella della California.
Secondo noi la discussione sul fatto che Derek Carr valga o meno quella cifra deve partire dai numeri e di quello che i Raiders sono stati senza di lui a causa dell’infortunio dello scorso dicembre che ha tolto ai californiani il quarterback per i playoff.

Altro numero interessante è il numero di touchdown lanciati, 81, e di intercetti subiti, solo 40, record per un quarterback NFL nei primi tre anni di carriera.
Derek Carr è fresco di undicesima posizione nella Top 100 NFL del 2017
