Dopo aver raccolto i voti online di tifosi e appassionati e quelli dei giocatori e degli allenatori (ognuna delle tre componenti pesa 1/3) la NFL ha annunciato i convocati per il Pro Bowl 2026 che si disputerà il 3 febbraio al Moscone Center di San Francisco. La novità di quest’anno è lo spostamento dell’evento nella settimana del Super Bowl e non in quella precedente come in passato.
Per chi si fosse perso qualche passaggio, il Pro Bowl sarà una partita di flag football che sarà preceduta da una serie di giochi di abilità (Skill Game) sempre tra i giocatori convocati.
29 squadre hanno almeno un giocatore selezionato per il Pro Bowl e 22 hanno più di un giocatore scelto. Baltimore Ravens, Denver Broncos, San Francisco 49ers e Seattle Seahawks hanno 6 selezioni mentre Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Chargers e Philadelphia Eagles si fermano a quota 5. Nessun convocato per New York Jets, Minnesota Vikings e New Orleans Saints.
Qualche nota:
- Trent Williams, 49ers, è il quarto lineman offensivo di sempre a essere selezionato per 12 Pro Bowl dal 1970, raggiungendo Bruce Matthews (14), Randall McDaniel (12) e Will Shields (12).
- Travis Kelce, Chiefs, è stato scelto per il suo 11º Pro Bowl, a pari merito con Jason Witten (11) per il secondo maggior numero di convocazioni al Pro Bowl tra i tight end di tutti i tempi, dietro solo a Tony Gonzalez (14).
- Kyle Juszczyk, 49ers, è stato selezionato per il suo 10º Pro Bowl, il numero più alto di sempre per un fullback.
- Quenton Nelson, Colts, è il secondo lineman offensivo a essere selezionato al Pro Bowl in ciascuna delle sue prime otto stagioni in carriera dal 1970, raggiungendo Joe Thomas (prime 10 stagioni).
- Ja’Marr Chase, Bengals, è il terzo wide receiver a essere selezionato al Pro Bowl in ognuna delle sue prime cinque stagioni dal 1970, insieme a Tyreek Hill (prime otto stagioni) e A.J. Green (prime sette).
- Micah Parsons, Packers, è il primo giocatore difensivo a essere nominato al Pro Bowl in ciascuna delle sue prime cinque stagioni in carriera dai tempi di Aaron Donald (prime 10 stagioni dal 2014 al 2023).
